Julie Overgaard Clausen

Julie Overgaard Clausen (b. 2001) is a Danish artist from Birkerød. She works primarily in oil paint, charcoal and chalk. Julie previously studied at Kunsthøjskolen in Holbæk and currently studies at the classical art academy Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy. Her approach to painting is traditional, but with a contemporary figurative expression that at times draws on the surreal. Julie's works circle the human condition — the subtle, capricious nuances of our behaviour, our expressions and our experience of the world. She finds inspiration in what puzzles her: the incomprehensible and the strange.
